10 Ways WWE Is Better Than AEW
6. Video Packages
WWE is a content production company first and a pro wrestling one second, resulting in video packages being far more of a bread and butter requirement than in AEW at this point.
Weeks will pass on Raw and SmackDown and the company will simply not tell stories. Wrestlers are paired together and interact, but they'll not necessarily escalate a tale or their hatred for one another or even establish motivations beyond what was set up in Week One. Nor will they particularly interact with other characters in the same shared world unless an authority figure installs an impromptu match for a TV show with apparently plenty of time to spare.
The meat will thus be in promos or beatdowns that can be spliced into perfectly produced video packages that are as good now as they ever were. Once, they were an incredible accoutrement. Now, they're all three courses, but the WWE content kitchen remains expert in preparing them nonetheless.
