10 Ways WWE Was Made Worse By Being Lazy

8. Constant Rematches

WWE dispensed with the automatic rematch clause at the turn of 2019.

In 2019, Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin clashed on three consecutive pay-per-views. At Super ShowDown, a selectively sh*tty referee displeased Corbin, the heel, who used his incompetence as an excuse to pick his own, vested with the power to so by...somebody.

"The days of absentee management are over," said Triple H on the December 17, 2018 RAW, after management, who have since disappeared, relieved Corbin of his match-making responsibilities.

This was a total mess that resulted in a poorly-received main event programme that repeated itself.

Also, 24 hour after losing the Universal Championship to Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules, Seth Rollins was inserted into RAW's All Star Battle Royal, which he won. Easy. Sorted. AJ Styles won a number one contender's match to reclaim his United States Title from Ricochet, which accomplished the same thing fans had evidently grown tired of.

"Fresh match-ups!" the McMahons promised the Universe on that fateful night in 2018.

WWE simply replaced a contrivance with a contrivance. WWE, once lazy, are now lazy and cheeky.
