To kick off the recent WWE UK Championship Tournament, Triple H tweeted “Time to start an empire.” When unveiling the tournament, he expressed WWE’s desire to start a weekly Network show with UK talent catered to a UK audience. The show looks to be headlined by talent such as Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, Tyler Bate, Mark Andrews, and a host of other British and Irish wrestlers.

Given this development, it’s not a stretch to assume that Triple H will want to expand his so-called empire to other parts of the globe, tapping into the talent pools of various wrestling scenes to create shows catered to those markets. Continental Europe, Australia, Mexico, India, and East Asia shouldn’t be far behind when it comes to WWE content made with their local talent. In a way, WWE would become a globalized version of the National Wrestling Alliance of old: a gaggle of unique territories under one governing body.

That’s what I call an empire.
