7. Paul Heyman's 'Dangerous Alliance'
Today, Paul Heyman is regarded as the greatest manager in the pro wrestling industry. Due to his continued excellent work on WWE TV, the former ECW head honcho receives compliments left, right and centre every time he appears. As older fans will know, this isn't a new gig for Heyman, he was actually a manager long before the letters 'ECW' meant as much as they do now. In 1987, Heyman (then known as Paul E. Dangerously) formed The Dangerous Alliance in the AWA. Later, the name would pop up in WCW, where it became most famous. Fired in storyline as an announcer, Dangerously used Rick Rude to get back at the hierarchy that had wronged him. From there, the group blossomed, later including the likes of Steve Austin and Arn Anderson. During the early-90's, many managers had a stable of wrestlers. For example, Bobby Heenan had his 'Heenan Family'. Rarely did all the members work together however, just like they did in The Dangerous Alliance. WCW deserve true credit for the faction, which helped establish Paul Heyman as a manager on the national scene.
