10 WCW Ideas Eric Bischoff Can Use To Boost SmackDown

5. Look To Other Promotions

It would be a tad tricky these days, but reaching out to New Japan Pro Wrestling again could certainly help Eric Bischoff turn the SmackDown brand around.

If you remember, Bischoff famously made the most of a loose working agreement with New Japan back in the ‘90s. That agreement itself was in place before The Bisch was calling the shots in WCW, although it was Bischoff who maintained and made the most of this relationship.

As mentioned, striking up such an agreement with New Japan would prove extremely difficult right now – NJPW are viewed as a competitor to WWE these days – but Bischoff and WWE could at least ask the question. Away from NJPW, there are already promotions such as Evolve and ICW in bed with WWE, and there are countless other companies across the globe who WWE could reach out to.

Right now, SmackDown needs freshening up. The product and its performers are as a stale as a month-old piece of bread, and looking to borrow talents from elsewhere would be one way to get people talking.
