10 Weirdest UFC Fighting Styles
1. Krav Maga
You've probably heard of this bad boy before as being a street orientated martial art, but the style was actually developed for the Israel Defence Forces.
Drawing inspiration from boxing, judo, wrestling and karate, Krav Maga focuses on real world situations and how to defend yourself from authentic attacks with efficiency. The creator, Imi Lichtenfeld, honed the craft when defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in the 1930s.
Looking like the style of a driven, merciless individual, Krav Maga has been utilised in movies by the likes of Daniel Craig in Casino Royale and Tom Cruise in Collateral.
What makes Krav Maga so unusual is simply its lack of use in the Octagon. For a martial art that is as devastating as the rapid striking Maga, it's seen only one fighter that claimed to be practising strictly the form.
Moti Horenstein found himself KO'd in the first round of both of his UFC bouts. Sadly, it looks as though his poor record has deterred others who practise the craft to enter the cage.
Hopefully one day we can see a Krav Maga UFC Champion, purely so we can say that that person used the same fighting style as James Bond to win the gold!
