9. The Can-Am Connection vs. Bob Orton & Don Muraco (WrestleMania III)
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1uyr6m_wwf-wrestlemania-iii-the-can-am-connection-vs-bob-orton-jr-don-muraco_sport In reality, WrestleMania III was a one-match show. Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant dominated the minds of almost everyone, such was the epic nature of the confrontation. Yes, Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat would be the best wrestling bout on the card, but at the time, it was all about Hulk's quest to vanquish the giant. Looking at the massive crowd on hand for the show, it's surprising that Vince McMahon decided the ideal opening contest was a throwaway tag-team match which only lasted around 5 minutes. The Can-Am Connection (comprised of Rick Martel and Tom Zenk) were a popular, high-flying unit, but Bob Orton and Don Muraco were the complete opposite - instead of making for a nice mix of styles, this one was quite the awkward match to start on. Surely, it would have been better to start out with the dynamic, fast-paced, thrilling Intercontinental Title match between Savage and Steamboat? Even another match on the show, a Hair vs. Hair encounter between Roddy Piper and Adrian Adonis, would have been better?
