Any time you see an autographed item by a celebrity it's worth more than if the item isn't signed. However, if the autograph comes from Chris Benoit then it might actually hurt the value of the item. This seller is putting up a signed guitar by Chris Benoit. As soon as you see something like that you have to wonder if it would ever sell. Benoit's name is blacklisted in the wrestling business because he murdered his wife and son before committing suicide in the summer of 2007. His name isn't mentioned by WWE ever although his matches are available on WWE Network without edit these days. What's interesting about this item is the seller likely has no idea who Benoit is. This is in the description: "This is a brand new acoustic guitar hand signed in person by this wrestling superstar! This item comes CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC!" How brand new is it if he's been dead since 2007? Also, "this wrestling superstar" is pretty generic in terms of a description. It does say "4 Real" on it also, which was a catchphrase he was using for a while. It seems like this has been on sale for at least a few months since the item pages says the listing was revised in June. It's not up for bidding, but it can be yours $280. The chances of somebody going out of their way for Benoit merchandise seems very unlikely. Alert the seller. They likely have no idea.
