10 Weirdest WWE Matches Ever

6. Kane Vs. Big Show (RAW 08/05/2006)

When Kane and Big Show have clashed in the past, their obvious technical limitations have informed the content, which usually involves a smash-mouth procession of grunting and basic power moves. You wouldn't expect Michael Bay to direct Schindler's List, so you wouldn't expect the two near-immobile giants to indulge in a spot of smooth chain wrestling.

Only, their May 8, 2006 consisted of nothing but. It astonished everybody, including Jim Ross, who proclaimed that he didn't expect it "to be a catch as catch can classic, quite frankly." Perhaps the resulting action was an audible called by Vince McMahon, in his ongoing quest to ridicule the Oklahoma announcer.

That cynical assessment is the only logical one. The style was so alien to Big Show, in particular, that he coughed his lungs up after a minute of mat-based exchanges - before recovering to drill Kane with a drop toe hold and slapping him, pithily, on the back. Normal service resumes as the two behemoths engage in a test of strength - but the absurdity continues when Show cuts it off with a graceful greco roman overhead throw.

Show even manages a forward roll into a back heel leg sweep in a match which could have been transplanted, forward in time, from seventies-era NWA.
