10 Wildest Wrestling Lawsuits Ever
4. BelzerMania Running Wild
The first WrestleMania was one of the most pivotal moments in the history of professional wrestling.
Had it failed, the WWE as we know it today likely wouldn't exist. Vince McMahon would not be the millionaire he is and we could all be tuning into Wrestling at The Chase every Monday night instead of Raw.
Thankfully, the show was a massive success, which is mad considering the company's biggest star had choked a man out on live TV just four days prior.
Less than a week before he and Mr. T were due to compete in the show's main event, Hulk Hogan went on TV chat show Hot Properties to promote WrestleMania.
Host Richard Belzer asked Hogan to put him in a wrestling hold, which The Hulkster eventually did. Sadly for Belzer, Hogan cinched in the hold a little too tightly, causing the host to pass out and smack his head on the floor.
The comedian sued the wrestler for $5million in damages, but the two parties managed to reach an agreement without going to trial.
In a baller move, Belzer used his payout to buy a house in France, which he named "Chez Hogan." Absolutely wrecked him.
