If you remember Serena solely from her days as a member of the Straight Edge Society, then you might not know how incredible a competitor she actually is; she had been regarded as one of the greatest women's wrestlers on the independent scene for years before signing with WWE in 2010.

Serena bringing her revered wrestling ability to the dying division was seen as a major coup for the promotion, in addition to being a fantastic opportunity for her personally.

Her being paired with CM Punk and the rest of the Straight Edge Society upon her arrival wasn't a bad idea, but once it became apparent she wouldn't be wrestling at all, it was clearly a waste.

She wrestled only one mixed tag team match before the company cut ties with her that summer. Needless to say, they dropped the ball with her big time, and the Straight Edge Society suffered from her departure, breaking up not long after. Serena has since returned to the independent scene, continuing to hone her skills and leaving fans wondering what could have been if WWE had actually utilized her properly.
