10 Women's Wrestlers That Were Better Off Without WWE

3. Maxine

WWE truly didn't know what they had with Maxine when she was with the company, though the fact she was the best thing about NXT's all-women season in late 2010 should have been an early indicator that she was worth keeping around. Despite that, she was largely relegated to NXT: Redemption (where she engaged in an entertaining storyline with the future Ethan Carter III) and made a minimal amount of appearances on the main roster prior to her self-imposed departure in June 2012.

Anyone who watched her work in NXT knew she had a gift in terms of her extraordinary acting ability, so it was only fitting she wound up in Lucha Underground playing the part of Catrina, the main squeeze of Mil Muertes. Although she isn't an active competitor, she has absolutely thrived in her role and has had one of the best character evolutions of anyone on the show.

She has gone on record in the past in saying she essentially pitched what she's doing now in Lucha Underground to the WWE Creative team, who ran with her idea... for Aksana. It's safe to say she has shoved it right back in WWE's terrible decision to let her go right back in their face.
