1. Scandalous

If there is one ever-present in a shifting wrestling landscape, in which a 6'8", 385lb hoss of a Vince McMahon pet project is also fan flavour of the month (imagine forecasting that on April 6, 2014), it is wrestling's ability to scandalise.

In 2017, Mauro Ranallo was allegedly bullied out of WWE by a man, JBL, who allegedly put an end to his bullying ways after getting his arse handed to him by the lowly Joey Styles. Proving that it is constantly behind the curve, it took wrestling three years to adapt the Fappening; the deeply abhorrent privacy invasion swept over wrestling a few months ago.

Tom Phillips was also embroiled in a scandal, having been caught "sexting" an illicit lover without the knowledge of his fiancee. More recently, the turbulent details behind Alberto El Patron and Paige's relationship (seem to) have surfaced in ugly fashion. Even Bray Wyatt, immune to adequate booking, isn't immune to such scandal, having been rumbled for his extramarital exploits by his scorned wife.

Wrestling is ruthless, often ugly - and never has there been a more instantaneous platform on which to capture and publicise it.
