10 Worst Babyfaces In WWE History

7. Randy Orton

Since 2004, Randy Orton has undergone several successful babyface turns but it was that initial one, on the heels of his first World Heavyweight Championship victory, that earned him a spot on this list.

At SummerSlam 2004, Orton capped off his rapid ascent up the WWE ranks, defeating Chris Benoit to win the top prize on the Raw brand. In doing so, he emerged from the summertime spectacular the most buzzing star on the roster. He also raised the ire of mentor Triple H, who was none-too-pleased that his protégé had captured the title he had worked all summer to regain.

A shocking betrayal led to an ill-fated babyface turn for Orton, who was not yet experienced or mature enough to get over with fans as a good guy beyond his spontaneous RKO finisher that popped audiences. He was arrogant, almost entitled even. He openly threw his heritage in the face of anyone who would listen, not just as a badge of honor but as a means of expressing his superiority.

Simply put, that incarnation of babyface Orton was a daddy's boy living off his family's reputation whose only claim to being a good guy was WWE Creative's unwavering stubbornness to get him over as such.

It failed, and by the time WrestleMania 21 in April 2005 rolled around, he was back in his comfort zone of douchey heeldom.
