10 Worst Booked Dream Matches

1. FTR Vs The Young Bucks (AEW All Out)

Truly one of the more frustrating creative misfires in recent wrestling history, the build to FTR Vs The Young Bucks was absolutely f*cking fantastic until it suddenly and very awkwardly wasn't.

All Elite Wrestling's otherwise-very good reputation has taken a real knock with this one, and it remains unclear as to quite how it's happened. Ahead of All Out and FTR's battle with Tag Team Champions Hangman Page and Kenny Omega, Dash Harwood and Cash Wheeler worked diligently to destroy The Elite from the inside. Gaining Matt and Nick Jackson's trust before manipulating Page into betraying them, it was the perfect masterplan to unsettle the Champions and their best friends before taking the gold.

Unfortunately, the whole scene brought the heel worst out in The Young Bucks, which subsequently knackered the natural chemistry that had existed between the two sides from back before they could even appear on screen together. Weeks of story beats that have ranged from subjectively drab to objectively bad followed, with the match graphic itself the only foundation left standing from the house the quartet built a full wrestling lifetime ago.

It was in 2016 when both teams tweeted how fans would one day "rejoice" at the sight of the legendary duos squaring off. Four years later and the virtual guaranteed quality of the clash is just about the only thing holding the expected epic together.
