10 Worst Botches In AEW History
7. Cody - Dynamite 13/11/19
It doesn't look great, does it? The snap powerslam isn't the easiest of moves to pull off, but you'd assume that two men as experienced as Cody and Chris Jericho - two professionals who have hit this spot countless times in their careers - should have no problem getting it right. Wrong.
What made this November 2019 Dynamite botch even more glaring was that it was part of a segment built around a hot babyface clearing house, dispatching the heels and looking like an unstoppable beast in the process. Instead, both Cody and Jericho seemed to get stuck in time, falling over in a weirdly romantic heap. Everything about it just looks messy.
Cody's head is in the wrong place, Jericho's feet seem to get stuck in treacle, and MJF is stuck in the background looking on at a business he is duty-bound to inherit. JR did his best to cover for the botch by claiming that Cody's equilibrium was off, but not even the iconic Ross could make up for this mistake.
Neither of the men involved was damaged by the botch, which is testament to the quality of AEW television. Still, this is a botch that looks more and more wretched with every passing view.
