10 Worst Botches In AEW History

Christopher Daniels is a national treasure. How can you not love the Fallen Angel?

The man was the glue that held together TNA's X-Division when it was at its best, and he has been a consistently magnificent presence in non-WWE professional wrestling for nearly two decades. If anyone deserves the financial security provided by the emergence of AEW, it is Daniels.

Alas, time waits for no man, even a man as evergreen and professional as Christopher Daniels. Now 50, Daniels was feuding with The Lucha Bros towards the end of 2019, with Penta El Zero Miedo putting him out of action after a brutal piledriver on the ramp. Daniels returned to get his revenge, leading to a singles match with Penta on Dynamite in December of that year.

The botch in question came on a failed springboard moonsault attempt, a cruel irony given the whole 'B.M.E' part of Daniels' repertoire. Daniels slipped and fell onto his back, and the situation wasn't helped by Penta's relative confusion. Maybe, like the viewers at home, Pentagon couldn't believe what had just happened?

The commentary team put over that Daniels may still be suffering from his injuries, which half-covered for the mistake. It was difficult to ignore entirely, however, Still, Daniels isn't a young buck anymore and he deserves all the leeway he gets. A national treasure, botched moonsault or not.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
