10 Worst Champions Of The Best Titles In Wrestling

1. David Arquette - WCW Heavyweight Championship

Some people may not remember that World Championship Wrestling very nearly beat the WWE in the Monday night wars to become to top wrestling promotion in the world. It was really that close. That means that being the WCW Heavyweight champion was, in the 1990s, akin to being the #1 professional wrestler in the world. In the days before the "Big Gold" belt went to WWE, it was worn by the likes of Sting, Ric Flair, Lex Luger and Diamond Dallas Page. On April 25, 2000, in what had to be a head slap heard 'round the world, actor David Arquette pinned Eric Bischoff in a tag match to become the WCW Heavyweight champion. While this was undoubtedly done, in part, to promote Arquette's film Ready To Rumble, the angle has been cited as being the beginning of the end for WCW. Less than a year after Arquette's title win, WCW was purchased by the WWE. Coincidence? Doubtful.
