10 Worst Excuses Wrestlers Gave For Missing Matches

1. Terry Funk’s Horse Is Sick

There was no way Terry Funk was accepting his designated role at Survivor Series 1993. The hardcore grappling legend was supposed to be one of the knights who'd team with Jerry Lawler against The Hart Family on that pay-per-view, but everything changed overnight.

Firstly, Shawn Michaels replaced Lawler in the bout, so the knight gimmick didn't make any sense. Then, Funk caught wind that he and the other masked men would have their hoods ripped off to expose who they really were on camera. Terry didn't think much of that, so he came up with a pearler of an excuse.

The Funker wrote Vince McMahon a letter which simply said: "My horse is sick. I think he's dying. I'll see you later". Basically, Terry got out of the booking by claiming that a horse on his ranch was ill and needed his attention.

Points for originality, at least.
