10 Worst Factions In Modern Wrestling

3. The Nightmare Collective

In the three-year existence of All Elite Wrestling, there are very few low points that stick out. Unfortunately, one such example of a misstep was the Brandi Rhodes-led group known as The Nightmare Collective.

Dating back to Double or Nothing 2019, AEW's first pay-per-view, Brandi had aligned herself with Awesome Kong. Shortly into her AEW tenure, Kong started cutting off chunks of her opponents' hair, bewildering fans. To add to the group's troubles, underwhelming acts Mel and Luther were added to The Nightmare Collective, giving them a pseudo-goth presence. With similar themes being shown by The Dark Order, the Butcher, the Blade and the Bunny, as well as Darby Allin, fans swiftly rejected the Brandi-led foursome.

In a rarity in professional wrestling, AEW seemingly noticed the negative reaction the group received and scrapped The Nightmare Collective. Awesome Kong was written off television to return to filming Netflix's GLOW, with Brandi burning her outfit from the faction. While credit should be given to the company for recognizing the group's perception among fans relatively quickly, it does not save The Nightmare Collective from being one of the worst in recent years.
