10 WORST Matches From WWE’s Biggest Gimmick Bouts

8. I Quit

The Match: Bret Hart's match with Bob Backlund at WrestleMania XI.

Why It Was The Worst: The 'I Quit' stipulation is a difficult sell at the best of times due to the momentum-breaking stoppages necessary so referees can hold a microphone up to someone's chops as they either yell, "No", something to that effect or say the magic words that end the match.

At WrestleMania XI, Bret Hart and ageing relic Bob Backlund worked the first ever 'I Quit' match in WWE history, and it was horrible. Bret even named this one as his worst match ever when writing his autobiography, and it's not hard to see why; a disinterested Roddy Piper (who as the guest ref) shouting, "What do ya say?" into the mic every two seconds was almost comical.

Backlund also flubbed the ending by shouting, "Yeah" instead of 'I Quit'. Avoid at all costs.
