10 Worst Moments In AEW History

4. The Revolution Bomb DUD

The big angle that concluded AEW Revolution 2021 was unfavourably compared to WWE Hell In A Cell 2019.

This wasn’t particularly fair; the rather key difference is that AEW attempted to do something cool and failed the execution, whereas WWE simply executed a terrible idea dismally.

Nonetheless, this was a complete embarrassment.

The Jon Moxley Vs. Kenny Omega Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match was very, very cool - the unexpected second explosion from Mox’s John Woo dropkick played beautifully with how those spots are “meant” to be distributed - even if the shower of sparks wasn’t quite as luminous as you’d hoped.

However, in the post-match, when the ring was meant to explode with Jon Moxley trapped within it, an absolutely pathetic sparkler display faintly rose from each ring post. Poor Eddie Kingston, making the heroic save, had to sell it.

AEW actually salvaged the whole thing with a very funny edition of Dynamite - “69 me, Don!” - but AEW strove for FMW here, and instead plummeted to LOLTNA.

A punchline of an angle, no matter how well it was handled, it underscored that AEW, sadly, is never too far away from stupid. Significant trust was lost that night.
