5. Bray Wyatt
Years ago, Bray Wyatt was Husky Harris - a second-generation superstar who was competing on the first version of the NXT show. Harris stood out among the cast for his poor physique, though, and despite his athleticism - he described himself as an "army tank with a Ferrari engine" - it looked like it was going to be tough for him to make it in WWE.
He ended up back in development and was given a new character - charismatic backwoods cult leader Bray Wyatt. With this particular gimmick, Wyatt's physique didn't matter as much - there was less focus on his athleticism and ability (though it was still present, and still belied his appearance). What was more important was his commanding presence and promos. It also didn't hurt that he started wearing clothes.
Over the past three years, a lack of real development has led Wyatt's character to become pretty stale. Still, the bones of the gimmick remain strong, and Wyatt's physique doesn't affect his performances.
