10 Worst Times Celebrities Got Physical In Wrestling

Rob Gronkowski and Snooki should have thought twice before getting physical in WWE...

Celebrities and wrestling have long gone hand in hand. From Cyndi Lauper thumping Lou Albano with her purse on Piper's Pit, to Floyd Mayweather legitimately breaking the Big Show's nose, big names getting their hands dirty has led to some of the most memorable moments in wrestling history.

Of course, 'memorable' doesn't always mean "good". For every crowd-pleasing celebrity involvement in pro wrestling - notorious baseball cheat Pete Rose getting Tombstoned by Kane; Mike Tyson knocking out Shawn Michaels; Bob Barker threatening to take Chris Jericho over his knee - there has been an equivalent moment that led to more face-palms than high-fives.

Wrestling has a long and storied history of household names embarrassing both themselves and the profession during their dalliances with the squared circle. Television's most irritating reality TV star (no small feat) inexplicably found herself in a WrestleMania match, the world's most famous boxer almost had his leg kicked off in Japan, and a certain hip-hop artist recently proved that talent can't be transmitted by sharing a game show judging panel.

And that's not even mentioning the time a certain law-enforcing cyborg thwarted the Four Horsemen...

10. Hi Rob! Bye Rob!

The word that best sums up Rob Gronkowski's WWE career? Worthless.

Gronk's first flash in the WWE pan occurred at Wrestlemania, where he helped real-life buddy Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Unfortunately, like so many modern WWE moments this went nowhere. Gronk went straight back to the NFL, and these days Mojo Rawley is more likely to be seen on the back of a milk carton than on WWE programming.

However, Rob made the bold step from "pointless" to "detrimental" when he won the 24/7 Championship. Rob's reign as champion essentially pulled the plug on the already-struggling belt, as he disappeared with it for three months before re-emerging on WWE TV to drop it before he returned to his day job in the NFL.

Still, given Gronkowski's abysmal performance as Wrestlemania host (imagine that one guy at a party who wants everyone to know how "hyped" he is to be there), it's probably a good thing he spent as little time on-screen as he did.

Thanks for trying, Rob, but not every celebrity can be like Pat McAfee. Most just end up being an Art Donovan.
