1. Katie Lea Burchill - Incest Practicioner
Some gimmicks are so bad, they’re capable of killing two WWE careers. Although no stranger to weird, unpopular gimmicks (he had previously appeared as a pirate who swung into the arena on a rope) Paul Burchill was repackaged as the incestuous brother of Katie Lea Burchill.
Upon debuting, Katie began to stroke her brother’s abs tenderly, calling him ‘the most beautiful man in the world’. Paul responded to this by cooing: ‘Every brother loves to make his little sister happy. So whatever Katie wants, Katie always gets.’ Ugh.
It’s baffling to try and pin down exactly who this gimmick was for. Sure, incest will make you pretty unpopular with 99% of people watching at home (unless you're Jaime Lannister), but there’s not really anywhere you can go with the angle within the confines of a wrestling ring.
Thankfully, it did go nowhere, as WWE turned PG
shortly after the gimmick debuted, and it was ultimately scrapped.
