10 Worst Wrestling Gimmick Matches Of All Time

10. Punjabi Prison Match

Named after the Punjab state that The Great Khali is billed from, this match consists of two large bamboo cages, a larger one surrounding the other. In a rather complicated match, the inner cage contains four doors which are only allowed to be opened once and remain open for just 60 seconds and they are padlocked closed after. If all four doors become locked, the combatants must escape over the top of the cage and also over the larger one and a winner is declared when both the wrestler€™s feet touch the arena floor. The match debuted at The Great American Bash in 2006 and was originally scheduled to feature The Great Khali vs The Undertaker but Khali was replaced with The Big Show. Using giants for such a limited match really did not help sell it, which would have been a hard task for anyone. Undertaker won after being thrown through the second cage and thus feet touching the floor first. The match made its return at No Mercy 2007 and actually featured The Great Khali facing Batista for the World Heavyweight Title. Bastia retained the World Championship in a match which kept being referred to as a awe inspiring spectacle by the commentary team. It was far from that and we have never seen the match return to WWE.
