Elevation X was basically a glorified scaffolding match which pitted two superstars several feet above the ring in which the only way to win is to knock your opponent off and them fall into the ring. The first ever Elevation X match came about at Destination X 2007 between AJ Styles and Rhino in a match which really limited both men. The end came when Rhino stamped on AJs fingers leading to a very anti-climatic fall into the ring. Rhino was also involved in the second Elevation X match the following year against James Storm where he won again after sending James Storm off the structure through the table in the ring below. The match did not return and not surprisingly as it was quite a boring match for fans and the payoff was just too dangerous to really go for.
