3. Mike Knox (2009)

Just over one full year after he entered his first Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out 2009, Mike Knox was released from his WWE contract. That should clue everyone in on how successful he was in the cage against bigger names like Edge, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Kane and Chris Jericho.

Compared to those stars, Knox was a nobody. That wouldn't have been a massive problem had WWE been willing to book the Raw newcomer well, but the combined lack of interest in everything he did from the Seattle crowd and a quick elimination at the hands of Jericho worked against Knox.

Like Big Daddy V and Chris Masters before him, Knox didn't belong in such a high-profile spot with workers much better than he. Everyone else from this match is either a current or future WWE Hall of Famer. Meanwhile, Knox is a footnote in WWE history and unlikely to be remembered by anyone other than hardcore fans.
