10 Worst WWE Entrance Music Downgrades

3. Aleister Black

Aleister Black is one of the greatest WWE character creations of the last decade. His presentation throughout his NXT run was almost perfect and his aura was even maintained on the main roster for a considerable period of time, with his in-ring appearances spread out to make them more impactful. Sadly he has barely registered in 2020, losing his almost year-long unbeaten streak in February and then doing little other than dropping in and out of Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio’s respective rivalries with Seth Rollins.

Black’s recent heel turn against Owens has already been forgotten, despite being less than two months ago, by how toothlessly it was presented. Done properly, a rivalry between two of the best performers on the roster could’ve headlined a major pay-per-view event once upon a time, but that’s water under the bridge now they both seem to be permanently stuck in midcard purgatory.

The most adverse consequence of Black’s change in alignment has been the condemnation of his eerily brilliant theme, ‘Root Of All Evil’, to the dustbin. Much like Keith Lee, he appears to be a victim of the CFO$ split and his new metal-inspired music appears to have come from a generic stock library.

It doesn’t appear as if the company has a new in-house composer on the books as of yet. Until they get one, the likes of Black are stuck in the doldrums from an audio standpoint.
