10 Worst WWE Entrance Music Downgrades
4. Fandango
Though everything pointed to his ballroom dancing gimmick having a short shelf life, Fandango became an overnight sensation at WrestleMania 29. This was almost entirely due to his entrance music and its accompanying dance moves, which the raucous crowd on the following night’s Raw appropriated during their ‘hijacking’ of the show. It became a viral sensation in the days that followed, with the whole internet seemingly engaged in what would eventually be coined ‘Fandangoing’
Naturally, WWE ran this into the ground by repeatedly emphasising its popularity on air. Like any other meme, it ran its course, but ‘ChaChaLaLa’ remained the most memorable aspect of the former Johnny Curtis’ character for the next year.
After an absence, Fandango appeared on the 2014 Survivor Series card having switched his dancing discipline from ballroom to Latin. He was accompanied by a new theme befitting this change of style, but by taking away the thing that most endeared him to fans, it flopped majorly.
Within six months, Fandango was a ballroom dancer once more, albeit sans a partner. His iconic theme, one of the last composed by Jim Johnston in his long WWE career, thankfully remains part of his entrance and enduringly entertaining character to this day.
