It's one particular type of entertainment to cut a promo in front of a live crowd and present the hyperbole that is the atmosphere of professional wrestling. For the most part, all the top WWE talents are excellent at that. Occasionally, however, WWE will decide to book a feud or an angle which requires genuinely decent acting talent to be able to pull off in a serious way. A tragic scene for example, or supposed genuine love. Following his WrestleMania title win, things went rapidly south for Daniel Bryan, including an atrocious feud with Kane that did nobody any favours. In particular, one scene in the parking lot which saw Kane stalk Bryan and his wife Brie Bella led to some of the worst acting you'll have seen in pro-wrestling since the Dungeon of Doom. This was like watching the worst of 80s shoestring budget horror movies. Brie Bella's toneless screams were laughable and as much as we love Bryan, his deadpan attempts at urgency weren't any better. Factor in the dreadful way in which it was staged with the bonnet up and Kane trying to reach in through the sun roof and you have one of the worst angles in WWE history. It was that bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J536syoABCY
Betting on being a brilliant brother to Bodhi since 2008 (-1 Asian Handicap). Find me @LiamJJohnson on Twitter where you might find some wonderful pearls of wisdom in a stout cocktail of profanity, football discussion and general musings. Or you might not. Depends how red my eyes are.
