1. The Gobbledy Gooker
Taking the mantle of the number one, undisputed dumbest origin story in all of WWE history has to be The Gobbledy Gooker, a giant turkey who hatched from an egg at Survivor Series 1990.
Of course, the company didn't really expect anyone - even the younger fans to whom the product around this time was catered - to believe that this was actual bird who had grown to the size of an adult human and developed the ability to wrestle.
But then, what were we supposed to believe? However you try and justify it, the guy came out of an egg. He clearly wasn't cut from the same cloth as the likes of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels.
Blessedly, The Gobbledy Gooker only made a handful of appearances before being booted off TV amid widespread disapproval from fans. Even in the nineties - even on Thanksgiving - this kind of s**t just wasn't going to fly.
