6. Triple H Vs. Sgt. Slaughter: Boot Camp Match (12/7/97)

Yokozuna Undertaker
WWE Network

This one falls firmly into the category of old-timers that had clearly seen better days. Slaughter was pushing 50 and was all but retired when he returned as the WWF's Commissioner. His feud with D-Generation X was an early WWE take on the establishment vs. the punks, except it's 1997 and the fans were expected to cheer the establishment. The frequent sighting of black Austin 3:16 and nWo shirts hadn't clued the WWF in yet, apparently.

Slaughter looked his age shambling around the ring while Helmsley took the bumps. "Sarge" suffered a little more ignominy when he removed his belt to whip Triple H, only for his pants to continually start falling down. Helmsley tried, but he could only do so much.

The fact that the match ran 18 minutes means somebody in the company has a sense of humor, at least.
