4. 1995 - The Heartbreak Kid Goes The Distance In Disappointingly Short Rumble
The 1995 Rumble match holds the record for being the shortest Royal Rumble contest in history, clocking in at just 38 minutes. By 95, the WWF was really struggling when it came to creating new stars. On top you had guys like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Razor Ramon and Diesel, but the undercard was in a lot of trouble with weak tag teams like Well Dunn and Jacob & Eli Blu along with returns of older names like King Kong Bundy and The Bushwhackers. This Rumble match is one of the weakest in terms of star power. The story of the match lay with Shawn Michaels and The British Bulldog. They drew numbers 1 and 2 and would end up being the last two guys in the match. They both worked hard and gave it their all but, apart from their interactions, the match was a complete DUD. The Florida crowd weren't as excited as you would expect considering the magnitude of the match. The cheers for the buzzer countdown were there but, for the most part, anybody who came through the curtain was perceived as being a letdown. When Rick Martel and Duke The Dumpster Droese are two of the biggest Rumble threats, you know you're in for a rather uninspiring night.
