10 Worst WWE Survivor Series EVER - According To Dave Meltzer
8. Survivor Series 2000 (2.31)
A year earlier, Rikishi borrowed The Rock's rental car and lay in wait for Stone Cold Steve Austin. 'The Rattlesnake' had been lured to the parking lot by Triple H, but was suddenly left exposed to the former Headshrinker's road rage. Mowing Austin down, Rikishi drove off into the night, hid away for a month or so, then reinvented himself as a dancing babyface on the main roster.
The revelations that explained all that absolute bullsh*t were drip-fed by a creative team clearly making it up as they went along in late-2000, such was the abject failure of the Samoan in a top spot. As 'mastermind', Triple H was effectively gifted the storyline, whilst Rikishi was sidelined off into a programme with the ever-giving Rock just to not make his demotion look so blindingly apparent.
Their match on this card was the best of the bunch, but it wasn't saying a lot. The Rock got the win because so he bloody should, but Rikishi got his heat back immediately in order to keep him 'hot' for one more main event the following month.
Oh, and as for Austin and 'The Game'? They went nearly half an hour before Stone Cold locked him in a car and dropped him from a crane for the finish/non-finish. It left nary a mark on Hunter when he returned two weeks later. And the less said about Undertaker's snakeskin trousers and his absolutely p*ss poor WWE Title clash with Kurt Angle, the better.
