10 Worst WWE Tag Team Champions Ever

7. Ric Flair & Roddy Piper

They're two of the most iconic heels in wrestling history, and had Roddy Piper and Ric Flair become WWE Tag Team Champions at the height of their respective powers, there's a great chance they could've embarked on long, successful run.

The fact that they spent most of the '80s working for different promotions prevented this from happening, but 'Hot Rod' and 'The Nature Boy' eventually came together in WWE in 2006. At the ages of 57 and 52 respectively, Flair and Piper defeated The Spirit Squad to become World Tag Team Champions in a Cyber Sunday '06 brawl that made for a fun nostalgia pop, but did little to expel the misery that had crippled the division throughout their predecessors' lengthy reign.

The decrepit duo completely embarrassed the five-man group, showcasing WWE's complete disregard for the tag division and, apparently, their future. It was a short-lived reign, as Flair and Piper dropped the belts to Rated RKO eight days later, but neither should've been anywhere near WWE gold at that stage in their careers. Sadly, it's just one of dozen occasions when this company have used their past to screw the present.
