10 Worst WWE United States Champions Ever

6. Baron Corbin (2017)

Like him or loathe him (it's supposed to be the latter), Baron Corbin does get some heat from fans. Sure, he's hardly Dwayne Johnson on the mic, but we'd say he's done alright for himself considering what 2017 was like. That year, Corbin won Money In The Bank in June, surrendered his briefcase by August then lost to John Cena at SummerSlam.

It's fine though, 'cause a throwaway US Title reign towards the end of the year would solve everything, right?

Or maybe not. Baron wasn't a popular choice to dethrone the ever-green AJ Styles in a Triple Threat match that also involved Tye Dillinger at Hell In A Cell. People didn't want to see him get the title for two reasons. Firstly, he'd been booked to sh*t the bed on a supposedly guaranteed World Title reign. Secondly, he was replacing AJ.

70 days of mediocrity later, Corbin dropped the strap to Dolph Ziggler in another Triple Threat at Clash Of Champions and that was that; the 9-day Ziggler title reign almost made it on here, and it would've had it not been part of a larger narrative.
