10 Worst WWE United States Champions Ever
7. Seth Rollins (2015)
Seth Rollins is the perfect example of a performer who isn't necessarily to blame for a shoddy run with the United States Title. Before he was injured during a house show in Dublin, Ireland, Rollins was arguably the most consistent in-ring wrestler on WWE's books. He was a deserving WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and the decision was made to put the US Title on him too. At SummerSlam in August 2015, Rollins defended his WWE Title against John Cena. At the time, Cena was the reigning United States Champion, and that particular belt was on the line too.
The pair contested a stirring match, but it was one which did little for the plight of the secondary title. Rollins beat Cena, meaning he was both WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion. 28 days later at Night Of Champions, the decision was taken to switch the title back to Cena. Again, this didn't really serve much purpose. As a headline heel, having both titles in his possession gave Seth Rollins ultimate bragging rights. Quick fire title switches are rarely effective, and the situation was worsened by the incredibly brief nature of Seth's tenure with the belt.
