10 Worst WWE Workers Since 2010

10. Mason Ryan

Mason Ryan had absolutely anything and everything Vince McMahon looks for in a top star: ungodly muscles.

Yep. That was it. That was all of it. There was nothing more behind Mason Ryan, besides a slightly disturbing resemblance to Batista.

Ryan entered the scene as a member of the CM Punk run Nexus. He was given a big moment at the end of the 17 January 2011 Raw where he destroyed John Cena, but the follow-up wasn’t very strong because there wasn’t much they could do with him. A Cena vs. Ryan match would have set the business back 20 years.

So what made him so bad? Well, much like some other crazy muscular dudes in the past like Brakkus or Ted Arcidi, Ryan’s superhero physique greatly limited his mobility, and thus, his potential to be in a good match. Besides that, every move he performed looked unnatural, as if he had to take a moment to remember how to do it correctly.

Eventually he was sent back down to NXT and given a winning streak, but despite how much Vince loves them muscles, even he realized Ryan was never going to be good...or even decent, and had to let him go.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
