6. Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts (WrestleMania IV)
It seems pretty cliched to rag on WrestleMania IV, an event which has been dragged through the mud repeatedly. The main crux of the argument against the show revolves around the painstakingly dull 14-man tournament to crown a new WWF Champion. It's fitting then that in the first round, Jake Roberts and Rick Rude would send everyone to sleep! In fairness to both men, they were saddled with the 'time limit draw' scenario, whereby they had to effectively kill time for close to 15 minutes, before attempting to piece together an end stretch which would keep fans guessing. The way WWE approach these tournaments needs to be addressed, people can spot these time constraints a mile away, and they're rarely satisfying. Jake Roberts vs. Rick Rude should have been gold, especially because there was a personal grudge thrown in there - Rude had been claiming a relationship with Jake's lover, which only added fuel to the fire. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be enough to overcome the cards the duo were handed for 'Mania.
