10 WrestleMania Matches That Shouldn't Have Sucked (But Did)
3. Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania XX)
One of the strangest set of circumstances surrounding a WrestleMania match ever, Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg played before one of the most unique crowd reactions of all time. The Special Guest Referee, Steve Austin, found it hard to hide his smile as fans hit both men with booing, and chants about selling out resonated through Madison Square Garden. Needless to say, everyone in attendance was aware that both men were imminently leaving the company. Goldberg's run hadn't been what he had hoped for, whereas Lesnar fancied a crack at playing American Football for a living. In turn, the fans almost treated both men like they had disgraced the name of pro wrestling. This one should have been titanic - WCW's home grown monster, Goldberg against WWE's own pet beast, Lesnar. The match should have been nothing but a smash-mouth affair, with raw power winning the day, but instead turned into a farce, one permeated with stalling as neither man could seemingly wrap their head around the red hot atmosphere.
