10 WrestleMania Myths WWE Fans Still Believe

1. Every Attendance Figure

It's been common knowledge for absolutely yonks that WWE derive their attendance figures from the Bernie Madoff school of creative mathematics, with even the company themselves admitting that the numbers are inflated for the purposes of 'entertainment' (though quite how entertaining the fudged figures are to stockholders rolling their investments on the information is unclear).

The promotion openly stated that WrestleMania 32's reported 101,763 attendance claim was exaggerated so as not to "disappoint fans" - although such a philosophy didn't extend to the show-closing Roman Reigns vs. Triple H snoozefest. Most recently, WWE purported that 48,193 fans packed into Chase Field for Royal Rumble 2019 - this despite the venue only been configured for almost ten thousand fewer.

So McMahon innumeracy is no secret. And yet still people continue to dispute whether the company's improbable reported WrestleMania III gate is legitimate. At this point, the mythical 93,173 claim has almost become folkloric, defended to the hilt by nostalgic fans unwilling to let go of their childhood memories. Just a shame it's complete bogus.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
