CM Punk's "Best in the World" gimmick wasn't just a gimmick to him. He believed it. And when you take yourself seriously, as seriously as CM Punk takes himself, even the silliest thing can feel like a major insult.
Enter CP Munk, Chikara's resident straightedge chipmunk, and teammate of Colt CaBunny in The World Wildlife Fund.
Played, astonishingly enough, by the crazed man known on the indies as Necro Butcher, CP Munk adopted Punk's famous Pepsi tattoo, the shorts he wore in the indies, and an acorn-free lifestyle (even if he was lacking in most of Punk's most recognizable mannerisms.)
Considering Punk thinks Chikara is run by dorks, he wasn't terribly impressed with CP Munk. But it's hard to deny that, if you want to skewer someone who takes himself too seriously, a version of him played as a furry is a good place to start.
