10 Wrestler Names That Ribbed Other Wrestlers
5. Creative Control
Ron and Don Harris, TNA/Aerolux's resident thugs/intimidation officers, had a brief stint in WCW as Creative Control, the living embodiment of one of wrestling's biggest bugaboos: corporate oversight and interference.
Oh Vince Russo, you're just so clever.
But did you know the characters' names were Patrick and Gerald? Yup, Ron and Don Harris were renamed in order to cheap shot Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco. That is some razor-thin shade right there.
Although Patterson and Brisco were top names back in the day, what was the point of taking cheap shots at them in 1999? By that point, they were portraying Mr. McMahon's loyal stooges and mugging shamelessly for the camera.
That's low-hanging fruit for criticism. And, quite honestly, pointless. After all, having two hulking crowbars like the Harris Twins named after you isn't anywhere near as embarrassing as a hardcore evening gown match.
