10 Wrestler Names That Ribbed Other Wrestlers
3. Gillberg
Both a parody of Goldberg and a way to dent Goldberg's aura among WWF fans, Gillberg was a very entertaining send-up of WCW's prized bulldozer and pet project.
He used sparkers and fire extinguishers to recreate Goldberg's entrance in hilariously low-rent fashion, and his interviews were little more than snarls and goofy facial expressions. But it worked. Gillberg was over, far moreso than Duane Gill would ever have been otherwise.
A stalwart of the Light Heavyweight division -- WWF's half-hearted attempt to capture the spirit of WCW's dynamite Cruiserweights -- Gillberg fake-punched and jabbered his way into the hearts of fans everywhere.
Of course, Goldberg did end up getting the last laugh when they finally shared a ring, but that doesn't mean Gillberg didn't serve his purpose effectively.
