2. Mr. Kennedy
How Do We Know? He was on Signature Compounding Pharmacy's customer list and (sort of) admitted to use. When the Benoit tragedy took over the cable news landscape for a few weeks in 2007, Mr. Kennedy was one of the few active WWE stars to speak publicly about all of the negative attention the company was getting in light of the quantity of steroids found in Chris Benoit's home. In light of the criticism of WWE's drug testing, he did interviews and wrote a blog post where he claimed that he had used steroids as an independent wrestler (he was such an obvious user by indie standards that other wrestlers mentioned it in promos), but his opportunity in WWE cleaned him up. Weeks later, the district attorney's office in Albany, New York made available the customer list of a recently raided pharmacy available. Signature Pharmacy was basically a drug mill, and its clients included numerous wrestlers, some of whom (including Benoit) had already passed away. A number of them were on the WWE roster and were promptly suspended. So why is he being singled out? Signature was busted months earlier in a very high profile raid and it was very well-known in the wrestling business. It was inevitable that the information would come out, and it was an incredible ill-advised thing to lie about as a result. He's since taken responsibility for just how stupid he was during that period.
