10 Wrestlers EVERYBODY Was Wrong About

5. Enzo & Cass

Rumours recently began circulating suggesting that, in order to help NXT compete with the superfire hot AEW when they go head-to-head on TV this October, WWE could sensationally and surprisingly extend the proverbial olive brand to cast-offs Big Cass and Enzo Amore.

Such a scenario is scarcely believable in 2019, given both the duo's respective manners of egress from the company, and their subsequent troubled travails since. Consider: Ring Of Honor ditched the pair after just one night after they succeeded in p*ssing off the entire locker room. Ring Of Honor is desperately short of stars thanks to AEW's double-crossing pilfering.

No doubt, NXT fans already concerned at the product's impending Vincification come the USA switch would be be aghast at Enzo and Cass returning as alleged 'top talents'. It's a complete turnaround on their attitude some five years back, when the black and gold brand's most loyal adherents couldn't get enough of the then triple-act. Alongside Carmella, the leopard-printed pair incited such reactions and - crucially - shifted so much merchandise that they had 'future stars' written all over them.

As is frequently the case, the main roster exposed rather than hid their weaknesses. After two years of simply dreadful, dreadful wrestling, it came as a positive delight when both were given their marching orders within the space of a few months. Unfortunately, you apparently can't teach WWE to learn from their mistakes.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
