10 Wrestlers Who Had Great Matches When Injured

9. John Cena, SummerSlam 2013 With An Elbow The Size Of A Baseball

John Cena wrestled Daniel Bryan in a brilliant match at SummerSlam 2013. It really was one of the best contests of the entire year, an athletic battle that had chain wrestling, submission transitions and power spots. Remarkably, Cena went into the bout with a torn triceps. He showed real guts to still be going ahead with the match, because taking moves such as the YES lock must have been a real killer. The fortitude to compete was probably motivated by his respect and appreciation for Daniel Bryan. This was Bryan's big moment and Cena wanted to put him over. He strongly felt that the talented grappler and popular character deserved a chance. Disgustingly though, it was clear in the proceeding just how severe Cena's injury really was. He managed to put on a top performance in spite of it, but just looking at his elbow you could see things weren't right. Fluid had filled his arm, causing the elbow to swell to the size of baseball.
