10 Wrestlers Likely To Miss WWE WrestleMania 38

3. Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal is a former WWE Champion.

As inexplicable as this sentence will always read, it should mean something. If he was considered worthy of that spot, he should be considered worthy forever. You can't just strap somebody up, have them dominate television for several months, and then simply book them erratically as a geek for the next several years. Actually, you can, provided you have somehow acquired a wholly undiscerning audience and gargantuan rights fees. Mahal is doing next to nothing on WWE television currently.

He lost his last notable programme to Drew McIntyre which, stunningly enough, wasn't some great narrative opportunity because they were once in the same laughable undercard stable. Since then, he has worked the same 50/50 nothing loop to a backdrop of bored silence as 95% of the roster not named Logan Paul. He defeated Kofi Kingston in the King of the Ring tournament you'd forgotten about until reading this sentence, and was last seen losing to Drew in two minutes.

Could he possibly challenge Ricochet for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania?

Possibly.

But since losing a championship was more or less a promotion for Sami Zayn into an actual 'Mania story with actual personal stakes, what the f*ck would that even mean?
