Before even getting into this, one has to realise that this is a story that's been told time and time again by Hulk Hogan. Given the Hulkster's propensity to be a smidge flexible with the truth, any such tales have to be taken with a pinch of salt, but there are enough other recollections of this incident to believe something happened between Hogan and Harley Race.

As the story goes, the then-WWF was running a show in the Kansas City hometown of Race during the mid-'80s. With the NWA still competing with WWF at that point, battle lines were very much drawn, with eight-time NWA World Champion Harley taking umbrage with Vince McMahon's company coming into his territory.

So irked was the ever-badass Race, he stormed the Municipal Auditorium venue, headed to the locker room, and confronted Hulk Hogan. By confront, in Harley Race terms that meant punch in the ribs and pull a gun on your foe.

Obviously Hogan sh*t his pants when faced with a gun-wielding Harley, and Hulk's retelling of this incident usually ends with Race being escorted out of the building. Then again, it's a little tough to imagine anyone removing Harley Race from a building unless he was already making his exit.
